27.Maria de Fátima, Cheira Galhanas Escola Secundária de Campo Maior, Campo Maior, Portugal

  • Dear friends,

Thank you for your Easter postcards and letters. We love them!!

We are a group of 20 students from Portugal. We live and study in a small town called Campo Maior. Our hometown has got about 10 thousand inhabitants and it is a beautiful town with awesome landscapes.  There are several interesting places you can visit such as an ancient castle, some pretty churches, some nice museums, a football stadium and a lot of lovely gardens.

Our school is modern, new and very big as you can see in the pictures we are sending you. There are about 5 hundred students here.

In our free time we enjoy doing sports, going out with friends, playing online games and going to the cinema.

Here we celebrate some traditions as Christmas (Natal in our language), Easter (Páscoa in our mother tongue) and Festas do Povo (Festival of Paper Flowers). Our favourite traditions are: Easter (because we go camping with friends or family to a quiet and peaceful place near Campo Maior called Enxara for about 4 or 5 days) and the Festival of Paper Flowers (all the ancient streets of our small town are decorated with paper flowers made by old and young people. This festival lasts a whole week but it is only celebrated every 4 years because we need to work very hard for almost a year to be able to decorate hundreds of streets!!) We are also sending you two pictures of this spectacular tradition.

    Keep in touch.

    Love.

    The class 8C.
