04 AND 450. PRIMARY SCHOOL SAN FERNANDO, ALMERIA, SPAIN

  • Our Primary school San Fernando, lies in Almería, south-east of Spain. There are about 150 pupils, from 3 to 12 years old.

We are very proud to have made one the first carpets of the project (nr 4).

It is one of the founders of the project in e-Twinning.

We have invited many other teachers in e-Twinning to join us in this fractal project.

We made for that a short video at the very begining, inviting other schools around the world:

    SCIENTIX

The project entered Scientix in April 2015, and our school is one of the partners.

    CARPETS

We have made two carpets nr 4 and 450, from 3 to 12 years old (involving all the school). We like very much to see the photos of other schools around the world, here and also in our facebook page.

    SECOND CARPET

Before making the second carpet (nr 450), we played the game of coding our names in Braille. We learnt how blind people can read!

This activity was very funny, because we saw coded names of pupils from other schools. Some are published here

    MEMORY GAME

We have played to the game made by the school 174.Architectural technical high school, Belgrade, Serbia (coordinated by Milena Jeretin)

    PITHAGORICAL TREE

We made a very nice Pithagorical tree, where we learnt a lot about geometric fractals, and of course we understood the Pithagorical theorem. This activity has appeared here https://twinspace.etwinning.net/363/pages/page/40303 and in the blog of our school  http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/averroes/~04000948/Fractales14.html

    MEETING OTHER PUPILS

We enjoy talking with pupils from other countries in the forum https://twinspace.etwinning.net/363/forums/forum/4425

    BIG CARPETS

Our teacher Dolores, as co-organizer of the project together with other teachers, got the 1st prize in Mathematics in the contest Science on Stage, Barcelona. This was the first 6th iteration, made by 64 schools from around the world.

We appeared, together with the University of Almería, and other schools in the Media. https://topologia.wordpress.com/sierpinski-carpet-project/news/

We also assembled the 6th iteration together with many schools from Andalusia, in the "XII Feria de la Ciencia de Sevilla", in May 7th, 2015.

    SEE MORE PICTURES HERE

All the parents like very much this international project, they can see many pictures on the website of our school.

All the teachers and pupils enjoy being part of this nice and interesting project (LINKS DON'T WORK THERE ARE CHANGING THE WEB)

We have translated the video "We have a dream" to Spanish:

    CHRISTMAS CARDS

We are participating in this activity between several partners. We are sending Christmas cards to pupils of  Anica Tričković, of OŠ "Toplički heroji",  Pejkovac, Serbia; and on the other hand, we are receiving cards from pupils of Nataša Bogdanović, OŠ "J.J.Zmaj" , Al.Rudnik, SERBIA.

We are very excited about knowing our partners, and sharing experiences.

With this activity we have learnt how some fractals are constructed: Cantor set, Sierpinski triangle, Sierpinski carpet, Pithagorical tree, and other fractal objects, like hearts, letters. We have writen "Merry Chirstmas Serbia" with fractal letters behind the cards. We have written some wishes for this christmas and the new year.

This page will be updated with more activities soon.
