In these last years  saffron cultivation  has started in Lastra a Signa as well, as in other parts of Tuscany. This spice  is used in some recipes: it's famous the "saffron risotto" which is known all over Italy, but it traditionally comes from Milano.

Children from  2A and 2B of "Milite Ignoto" Primary School used saffron also in a creative way.
