INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL DAY OF NON VIOLENCE AND PEACE

  • INFORMATION FOR NEW MEMBERS

    WELCOME!!

This coming January 30th commemorates the International School Day of Non-Violence and Peace.

For the second year in a row our high school is organizing a joint event with schools from all over the world to celebrate this day.

Last year’s event consisted of the release of white balloons with peace messages. The event can be seen at the following link:

The activity we suggest for next January 30th is to form a long human chain for peace. The idea is that each school makes a chain formed by their students dressed in (if possible). The last person in the human chain holds a white balloon and pretends to hand it on to another (imaginary) person while saying aloud a quote about peace.

This image will be linked to the next school where an open hand will be waiting to take the white balloon from the previous school and where the last person in the chain will hand the balloon on to the following school while expressing a desire for peace.
In addition to this activity, each school may prepare as many events as they would like (songs, poems, dances, drawings) while the human chain is the core event common to all the schools.
