SPAIN March 2017

  • Spain March 2017

The first LTTA exchange took place in March 2017 at CEIP Cruz del Campo, Spain, as planned. A group of 6 pupils from each country took part in a Skype conference call before the meeting to get to know each other before meeting in person. Then when they met they exchanged cards, paper crafts, traditional gifts and other work carried out at home. They interacted with each other and organised and experienced inclusive activities (such as games or cooperative activties) that they normally experience in their home contry. They worked together in mixed groups to make traditional Sevillan fans and painted a wall in the school courtyard with the colours of each country's flag and the project logo, thus leaving a permanent mark of the project in the territory. Under the supervision of their teachers, they also presented activities specifically designed to reach the project objectives, such as the video activity "A Giraffe in the Rain", thus activating a peer-led learning modality. In addition to that, students and teachers took part in an activity proposed by a local association of blind people and had some simple training in sign language. In this way they experienced how important it is to rely on other people when in situations of need, while at the same time becoming aware of the possible needs of people around us in normal everyday situations, such as crossing the street, riding a bike, having a meal, communicating orally, etc.
