Christmas traditions in POLAND

  • At Polish school children make Christmas decorations and cakes and then invite parents to school for Christamas fair:

Some weeks before Christmas we start collecting sweets and toys to made presents for ill and disabled children. Then we visit school for children with special needs and give them the presents.

Students take part in a solemn assembly with Nativity play and singing Christmas carols:

In classrooms children have Christmas Eve dinner with sharing the holy wafer and some Christmas dishes: borshtch with pies, gingerbread cookies, poppy-seed cake. Students sing traditional Christmas carols with their teachers in the classrooms.

Of course our school is always decorated with Christmas trees, cribs and Christmas cards. Some contests connected with Christmas always take place at our school: A letter to Santa Claus, Christmas cards with English wishes.
