On Monday the 20th December we had a meeting with sportler Óscar Graña. Graña was born in 1976 in our city, Pontevedra. He is an athlete who competes in canoeing in the form of marathon, having won eleven medals in the World Canoe Championship between 2004 and 2016, and eight medals in the European Canoe Championship between 2003 and 2016 .
At 39, Graña still finds strength to maintain the strict training regime that allows him to be among the best on the planet.
Eleven times world medalist met us at our Highschool to talk to us about his canoeist career and we were lucky to ask him a few questions.
He explained us how it is to be a world champion: you need to put all your strength and make a lot of sacrificies, but the satisfaction you get makes all of it worth it.
He talked to us about his diet, his daily routine, his training and his experiences competing. We were able to learn a lot about canoeing and "sporting spirit".
