Our project is inspired by our youngest students who very often spend most of their school time in the classroom. We want to show
them the world outside and teach them about nature and sustainability through different activities in our school garden. We aim at
using the garden and its treasures as a place of discovery, a subject of study and hands-on learning and as support to cover a broad
range of topics - arts, science, literature, citizenship and languages.
The project will involve crafts and arts, garden games, ecology, recycling and a bit of cooking. The children will exchange seeds
and plants, compare their growth, learn about other countries and write stories together. We will also share our experiences, ideas
and ways of working around the garden to learn from each other new things.
Our project aims to:
- Cultivate student curiosity and exploration.
- Support student nutrition at school and at home, and encourage every child's ownership over his and her own health.
- Cultivate children's joy in learning by providing opportunities for hands on learning in school curriculum subjects
- Cultivate openness of students towards other cultures
- Cultivate children’s understanding of importance of self sustainability and permacultural principles.
