Thanks to the collection of old mobiles campagin, we could send 39 old mobile devicesand Roots and shoots sent us this wonderful reward: the sponsor of a chimpanzee which was rescued in Anglola, Africa from terrible illegal hunters.

Now Zezé is blind in one eye but he is living in the sanctuaire of CTchimpounga from jane Goodall institute.

Cozy as many chimpanzees is a victim of ignorance and the belief that they are in the right when an animal is exploited for their own economic ends.

Born in the US, Cozy was separated from his mother at one year of age and legally sold to an Italian juggler who used him for travelling shows, forcing him to pose for photographs and play tricks and games to entertain people.

In June 2003, at the request of the CITES service of the Corpo Forestale dello Stato (State Forestry Corps) in Macerata, JGI Italy undertook to look for a home for Cozy.

There were many preparations and bureaucratic formalities to fulfil until, in 2006, the JGI Eden Director arrived in Italy to accompany Cozy on his return journey to Africa.

Now Cozy is fully integrated into his group at Chimp Eden, he is sub-dominant to Thomas, Joao and Zac, mainly due to his castration. He has come a long way since his arrival and is now able to communicate successfully with the other chimpanzees.
