    Keeping safety in mind

During the project we worked on the following e-safety issues:

    1) DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY

We agreed with the partners to avoid using photos showing pupils’ close ups. In case photos of students or teachers needed to be used, privacy was ensured by covering or blurring the relevant parts using a facepixelizer. Along the same lines, we used avatars, drawings or images for the students profile in twinspace:

    2) SAFE INTERNET USE

To create awareness of the potentials and risks of internet use, we worked on several initiatives on an individual school basis that culminated in the joint celebration of the Safer Internet Day (view page SID-8 February 2022) covering our personal reflections in a shared word cloud in answergarden.

    3) PASSWORD PROTECTION

Students worked on STRONG passwords "easy to remember but difficult to guess"

Here some examples of password created by students using the "4-step system" : (1) Think of a phrase; (2) Use the first letter of each word -upper case and lower case; (3) Sprinkle a couple of numbers;  (4) Add a special character

    4) COPYRIGHT ISSUES

All personal information is protected in the TwinSpace.

We established clear rules of online collaboration with students and partners.

We used copyright-free material, Creative Commons and Shareware

The project increased students awareness of the issues related to safe internet use
