Students from IIS Galileo Galilei followed an interesting conference by Professor Magri: Democracy crisis or revival? We'd like to share with our partners the key ideas from the conference. We think they can be a starting point for discussion.
Here below a recap of the activity.
VOICES FROM AFGHANISTAN _ On 25th November 200 students from IIS Galileo Galilei followed an interesting conference about Afghanistan's current situation. We were explained the historical background and the causes of a twenty-year war. We were particularly interested in listening to two women's stories: it is not clear what rights women will be able to retain because under the Taliban women are now unable to work, teenage girls are prohibited from going to school, and the interim cabinet is made entirely of men. Having spent two decades fighting hard to win their most basic rights, Afghan women now face the real possibility of loosing everything. Can Europe be indifferent?
As junior Ambassadors of the European Parliament we were given the possibility to ask them questions and their answers were a real wake up call.
We can share these ideas in the common webinars.
