In one of the themes of the project – ECO friendly way to school, we made a survey.

We questioned pupils and their families. The age of the pupils  ranged from 7 to 11 years old.

According to the survey, we found out that most of the students are brought to school by their parents private car and after bringing child to school adults are going to work. A third part of the pupils walk to school. A fifth part of pupils use public transport to get to school. Parents' answers were the same  with the answers given by pupils.

Answering the question – Who decides how to get to school?  75% of pupils replied that their parents are those who decide how to get to school. A fifth part of the pupils make their decision by themselves.

According to the survey, most pupils live 6 to 15 minutes distance from school. A fifth part of pupils live 25 minutes away, but only 4% of pupils live very close to school. The answers of the parents were the same.

It was abig  surprise to us that nearly half of the pupils want to use a car to get to school. A quarter of pupils would like to use a bike, while 17% of pupils would like to use a tram.

At this point, parents' answers more differed from  pupils  as nearly half of the parents said that they would  like that pupils walk to school. Leaving a bike in the second place, while in third place the use of  public transport. Only 2% of the parents replied that they would like to take kids to school on their private car.

When question asked about - “What is the reason not to use the type of movement you have previously chosen?” most of the parents replied that it isnt safe. A tenth part mentioned the long distance between school and their home. Also, respondents mentioned another reasons :   weather conditions, lack of drag accommodation, unordered infrastructure and lack of time.  Several respondents mentioned the argument that the pupil are too small to go to school alone.

The respondets,on their opinion, ranked the most environmentally friendly vehicles: cycling as the most environmentally friendy, leaving the scooter in the second place and the tram in the third place.

All the pupils and their parents questioned, clearly acknowledged that they would like to go to school to make it environmentally friendly.
