Day 1 : The Headmaster Mr Marzio Angiolani welcomed the foreign guests. The Italian students presented their school, the city of Genova and their region, Liguria. Mrs Risso presented the school’s Erasmus+ projects and some historical heroes connected to the city of Genova. The last presentation was a short lesson of Italian for beginners, the students were divided in pairs and the foreign students practiced introducing themselves in Italian. A Kahoot quiz was then presented to test what the foreign students remembered of the presentations shown. The foreign guests visited our school in small groups and in the afternoon they had a guided tour of the city centre.
Day 2: The Italian students presented a description of Genova during World War II and introduced the Heroes of the Resistence (Gino Bartali, Bisagno, Menapace and Segre) and two other more modern Heroes (Impastato and Bebe Vio). All the students were then divided according to the international groups and they started working on the cartoon and the pictures. In the afternoon, the group visited Boccadasse.
Day 3: The students worked on the cartoon and created the pictures, which were presented to the assembly in chronological order at the end of the activity. In the afternoon, the group visited the Museum Spinola di Pellicceria.
Day 4 : All the group went on day trip to Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino and Camogli
Day 5 : All the group visited the Museum of the Resistence Casa dello Studente and had a guided tour of the cells and of the bunker. At the end of the visit, the group went back to school for a last meeting and to say goodbye. The time at school was cut short as both the Norwegian and Portuguese groups had their pre-departure Covid-tests scheduled in the early afternoon.
All the activities in the programme were carried out; there were some slight changes (rough sea on Thursday and the availability of the Museum Casa dello Studente) which obliged Montale to adapt to the new situations. The Goodbye Pizza on Friday evening was cancelled for safety measures.
