Pre-survey

  • RESULTS OF THE SURVEY

    The first questionnaire has been carried out before the implementation of the project “Good Act Epidemic”. The majority of students were aged 13-14 years. Students represented 11 countries – Latvia, Italy, Spain, Austria, Croatia, Turkey, Poland, Portugal, Jordan, Ukraine and Tunisia.

    In the first questionnaire there were 199 respondents.

    96% of students stated that they consider themselves good persons.

    It is interesting to note that in 4 questions students have the same percentage, so 80% of them always or sometimes

    - behave nicely towards their friends and other people;

     - help somebody they do not know;

    - feed the street animals;

    - visit their lonely relatives

    56% of students usually help their family in household chores and state that they have ever considered a possibility of adapting a stray animal.

    After analysing questions about the taking care of the environment, it is worth to highlight several points. Almost 90% think that protecting the Earth is a very important question.

    Only half of the respondents always recycle plastic, metal and paper. Almost 20% do it rarely or never. More than 60% never or rarely take part in environmental cleaning events. These are the issues the project participants need to work on more attentively.

    65% of students sometimes or always buy goods from recycled materials. 35% do it rarely or never.

    Another issue the project participants have to work on is buying unnecessary goods as almost 60% of them state that they always or sometimes buy them, but it is valuably to note that 60% also always or sometimes take their own non-plastic bag when they go to the supermarket.

    It’s interesting to highlight that almost 60% of students always or sometimes use some source of renewable energy.

    In relation to the organising life better to have more free time for hobbies, almost 90% have answered that they have thought about it before.

    Finally, after considering the answers about volunteer work, 65% informed that they have never done it, however more than 90% indicated that worldwide solidarity is important or very important for them.

    Its is good to know that more than a half of respondents did a good deed within the last 24 hours that made them feel good or fantastic (67%) and the most of them do not expect to get something in return (80%). More than a half see acts of kindness daily or weekly.

    The fact that more than 80% of students claim themselves to regard themselves as helpful to neighbours, friends, relatives means that the project involves really kind personalities.

    Taking into consideration the above-mentioned facts it should be concluded that the project participants shall pay more attention to several points: problem of buying unnecessary things, recycling, taking part in environmental cleaning events as well as improve the indicators of other questions.
