Video calling in the classroom – top tips!
 

• Give the time of the call in all time zones
   
• Hold a practice call with the teachers in advance to sort out technical problems
   
• Don’t use wireless (if possible)
   
• Have a clear plan for the call (but you can still be flexible)
   
• Exchange vocabulary in advance (especially for language calls)
   
• Prepare your pupils in advance:

• how to behave and speak to the webcam
• what the call will be about
   

• Give the pupils something to do during any technical hitches
   
• After the call, ask the pupils to reflect on their learning and on how to make the next call even better!
