Mountains are used from tourism for hiking, skiing and other activities and often you can see cable liners (lifts) to th pic of the mountains. In earlier times the mountain region where used by the farmers for the animals during the summertime (Alpwirtschaft). Transhumance means that the amimals were brought to the mountains from the valleys during the summertime.
