Tea has become popular in Turkey in the 20th century, as an alternative cheaper from the coffee, and now is being served at any time of the day, as Turks from the tables.
While Chinese and Indians boast that they have discovered and used tea for thousands of years, but they have developed a custom mode to prepare and drink black tea (Çay in Turkish or Camellia sinensis in Latin language), which has become a way of life for their rich culture. When you walk in Turkey, tea or coffee (at least as well known) will be offered as a sign of friendship and hospitality, anywhere, at any time, before or after any mass.
