    Taking photos and giving information about the herbs. Each country will introduce 5 herbs with photos ,growing time and place. A herbal calendar will be created together . The calendar contains the most popular herbs in each country and photos taken during the project.  It will also contain a specific national element for each country  to promote national identity at European level.

    1th day

    1. “All Together Moment”. The  meeting of all the guests at the school Hall.

    Description: The teams introduce themselves and give  short presentations  “My  school, my community“ – the topic has be chosen according to the project activities.

    2. A trip around Katyciai.

    Description: “Edible and medicinal wild plants “

    Many wild plants, also known as weeds, are vitamin and nutrient rich factories with powerful healing properties. Most can be found in overgrown fields, woodlands, or in our own lawns. Visitors will be introduced with Lithuanian plants and their healing properties.

    Focus on Subjects/Skills trained: presentation skills, self-presentation, communication and collaboration, team work, tollerance, participation and relevance, IT, Biology.

    Report: PowerPoint presentations or videos  “My  school, my community“, certificates.

    2nd day

    Topics/activities:

    1. Workshops  “National  cuisine“.

    Description: Mixed teams, using national Lithuanian recipes, prepare food for  “The traditional food table“. They also make investigations under this food, revealing the content, the number of calories, the benefit and damage for the human health, as well as, discover the health and culinary delights of garlic, ginger, parsley, rosemary and others.

    2. A visit to the outdoor and adventure park “The Taurai Park“ (Tauragė).

    Focus on Subjects/Skills trained: health education,  communication and collaboration, team work, PE, IT, technologies

    Report: PowerPoint presentation or video “National cuisine“.

    3rd day

    Topics/activities:

    1. A meeting with the Katyciai community members at the local Community Centre.

    2. A trip to Silutė.

    Description: A meeting with the pharmacist V. Skirkevicius a member of “Herbal Academy”.

    Seminar : “The healing power of scents”

    Focus on Subjects/Skills trained: Biology, health education,  communication and collaboration, team work.

    4th day

    Topics/activities:

    1. A trip to Klaipėda

    Description: A visit to Botanical garden of Klaipeda University

    Practical training: seminar :”Cultivating herbal wisdom: growing a healing

    herb garden for pleasure and health”: there are many easy-to-grow, easy-to-use herbs that you can harvest and prepare to treat minor illnesses. This class is an introduction to some easy to grow medicinal herb plants that will enhance your existing garden or provide the focus for a new perennial bed. Chamomile, echinacea, calendula feverfew, and peppermint are just a sampling of the possibilities. Learn how to grow them, when to harvest the plants and some simple herbal preparations such as infusions and decoctions.

    2. “Lets discover and have fun“

    5th day

    Topics/activities:

    1. A trip to Mažeikiai and Plateliai

    Description: A meeting with J. Balvociute, a member of “herbal Academy”; hikes around Plateliai lake (educational trails).

    Practical training: seminar “The healing power of herbs’: herbs are powerful healers when used correctly. This class includes a brief history of herbal medicine and information on several popular Lithuanian herbs

    2. Evaluation of the meeting

    Description: Each partner team prepares a poster.

    Focus on Subjects/Skills trained: Biology, health education, communication and collaboration, team work.

    Report: certificates, photos/video materials, posters.

    and some simple herbal preparations such as infusions and decoctions.
