Favourite Songs and Activities
The children post their favorite songs (from YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/ ) as well as the song lyrics (from AZLyrics http://www.azlyrics.com/). Afterwards, they prepare 4 language tasks (Worksheets 1-4):
Worksheet 1: Create a Wordsearch or Soup of Letters using a "word search puzzle generator" http://wordsearch.kokolikoko.com/ Press Ctrl & PrtScr to take a screenshot of the wordsearch puzzle, save it and upload it on the padlet wall. Dont' forget to add the title of the song and your Mixed Nationality Group number.
(For definitions you can use either pictures or the definitons in Webster’s dictionary online http://www.learnersdictionary.com/definition/kid )Press Ctrl & PrtScr to take a screenshot of the wordsearch puzzle, save it and upload it on the padlet wall. Worksheet 3: Create a Cloze or a Fill in the blanks exercise with 10 missing words. The words should be provided in alphabetical order in a box next to the lyrics. Use an online tool http://worksheets.theteacherscorner.net/make-your-own/fill-in-the-blank/ Press Ctrl & PrtScr to take a screenshot of the wordsearch puzzle, save it and upload it on the padlet wall. Dont' forget to add the title of the song and your Mixed Nationality Group number.
Worksheet 4: Create a Picture Dictionary. The students create a task consisting of pictures and words. To do the task one needs to match picture with the relevant word. Press Ctrl & PrtScr to take a screenshot of the wordsearch puzzle, save it and upload it on the padlet wall. Dont' forget to add the title of the song and your Mixed Nationality Group number.
The students should use different words in each activity/worksheet.
The children's international partners are invited to use Paint software to complete Worksheets 1 to 4, save their answers as images and upload them on the padlet wall.
