Putting myself in the shoes of lonely people! ( Davide P. - ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI- ITALY)

I'd like to put myself in the shoes of a boy who doesn' t like talking with others and loves staying alone because he fears being judged by the others. But life teaches him that having friends gives colour to your life and helps you face difficulties when you are not strong enough!

In the shoes of immigrants! (Roberto Donzella ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI - ITALY)

I want to put myself in the shoes of those people who are forced to leave their home country because of war, environmental disasters or poverty. Wishing they can find what they are looking for ... soon!

Feeling in the shoes of victims of prejudices (FELICE- ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI - CALTANISSETTA )

Feeling in the shoes of discriminated people who are refused because it is difficult to go beyond the "cover"!!

Walking a mile in the shoes of...(FABIANO - ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI CALTANISSETTA)

In the shoes of a doctor during corona pandemic - Rosario ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI

Putting myself in the shoes of a doctor who is fighting the coronavirus, I would try to keep control because in a situation like this, serenity and self-control is paramount. Thanks to the help of people like them, even if the situation is not the best, we cansave the life of many people and defeat this terrible plague.

"I'd like to try the shoes of..." (Chiara ITET-RAPISARDI-DA-VINCI Italy)

I’d like to try the shoes of a homeless to understand that feeling of sadness and fear.
I think I'd need help from other people and I'd like to have a bed to stop sleeping outside in the cold.
I would like someone to worry about me and a family to stay with.
I'd like to get up in the morning and have a reason to continue living.

'Putting on the shoes of' (Matteo-ITET Rapisardi Da Vinci-Italy)

Feeling in the shoes of a poor man, in economic difficulties, I wouldn’t certainly feel well. If I were in this situation, and it may not even be my fault, I would probably feel frustrated, unfulfilled, unhappy and I would try to turn my life in something better.

Trying the shoes of doctors.(Federico, ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI.)

    family a decent life .

IF I WERE IN THE SHOES OF ANDREA ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI

Feeling in the shoes of a shy guy I would feel afraid to speak in front of
many people because i’d be afraid to say something wrong and to be
made fun by other guys listening to me speaking. Shy people should always meet inclusive people to help them feel at ease and express themselves.

Putting on the shoes of Alice ITET Rapisardi Da Vinci

In the shoes of homeless (Sofia-ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI)

Feeling in the shoes of a businessman!! (Andrea - ITET Rapisardi Da Vinci ITALY)

I'd like to try the shoes of a businessman in the time of covid-19.

Feeling in the shoes of a nurse in Milan (Antonio Dr. ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI - ITALY)

If I were on the shoes of a nurse in the red zone, I would be really scared and sad in this period because I would pass every day of these months asking to myself if this will be the last day that I will be negative to the virus or if I'll be positive what is going to happen next, or the feeling of powerlessness that would come out watching a great part of the people dying with no time or no way to help. The only one hope that I would have is the day of the end of this virus and meet and hug my family hoping to forget what I have seen.

    Calogero, ITET RAPISARDI DA VINCI

I put myself in the shoes of an afro-american, an afro-american named George, George Floyd. one day a policeman killed me during my arrest with malice, but the worst thing is that from this anxious peace arises, anxiously understanding that violence is weakness, that violence hurts anyone, put yourself in the shoes of the owners of the assaulted shops because of the color of my skin, all this would not have happened if I had a fair skin, and this is the worst part, everyone is using my death to justify wrong actions, and this cannot make me happy. if I were alive I would surely tell you to stop, if you were really on my side, you would go out on strike without breaking shop windows of poor workers who have done nothing wrong, the truth is that people never change, and that's the worst thing.

  • INCLUSION IN ACTION III

ACTIVITY 5. (Created by Javier Martínez González-Teacher IES Cantabria)

    Uncomfortable shoes

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhq5xC1DYis

    Description of Activity

If you were in my shoes…The expression doesn't really mean we need to try on other people's shoes to find out how it feels to be them. It means that if you can imagine how it feels to be someone else in a particular situation, you can understand the situation better.

In this collaborative video, we are going to stand in the shoes of some other people, and see if it helps us imagine how those people might feel, stressing the inclusion and diversity aspects, the importance of tolerance and respect with everybody´s ideas. I our lives, we´ll find many occasions in which we´ll have to face different problems looking at them from different sides.

All the ideas, all the opinions are respectful as long as they are based on tolerance. We want to raise awareness, standing on somebody´s else shoes and recognising the feelings which can be different from your own. These “uncomfortable shoes” will make us think about diversity and respect with a metaphor: a shoe shop to try different shoes to understand other people.

You might think to "switch shoes" and consider the situation from other people's perspective. After reflection standing in the different shoes, we´´ discuss and express what it feels like, what you may need and what you think of the situation.

There´s nothing better for respect than “breaking through to the other side…” The important thing is not to become “the other but to understand him/her). The uncomfortable thing is not standing in different shoes but having just one single point of view.

The goal of this activity is to help the students to see how any situation can have multiple perspectives, and that our feelings toward someone and his/her situation can change when we take the time to step into their shoes. Another goal is to experience that when they take the time to know what another person might be feeling and needing, they are more likely and better able to care about their needs and feelings, to treat them with greater respect, and to act on their behalf.

    Tasks:

First, think about possible uncomfortable shoes (contrasted opinions or situations you may think of) you think might be displayed (ex. Understanding non-believers/agnostic by a priest, progress ideas or new cultures by conservative people, oppressed women, radicals, poor people, etc.)

Then, add new ideas to this site (add button-indicating your name)

Finally, record your scene (write the script first and have it checked by the teacher- avoid repeating situations) and submit the short video to be assembled and create a collaborative video with many different perspectives. Deadline: Feb 15th.
