S.O.S. Erasmus+ teams held a flash mob about the traps of the Internet in Zagreb

Students from Finland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Spain were last week (September 12-16, 2022) the guests of Sveti Petar Orehovec Elementary School students as part of the Erasmus+ project S.O.S. – Strengthen Online Security for Students.
The theme of the mobility was online data privacy risks so the students learned about different types of phishing and how to protect yourself from such attacks, which are carried out by malicious users through fake e-mail messages and fake Web pages.
The workshop on phishing was held by Jakov Kiš, an expert from CERT, the national body for prevention and protection against computer threats to the security of public information systems in the Republic of Croatia. Students of communication studies Ivana Tomić and Sara Bojić led a workshop on digital footprints and taught students what not to do on the Internet in order not to endanger their safety. Professor of communication Danijel Labaš held a lecture to the teachers about what the Society for Communication and Media Culture is doing through the project “Media Children” about increasing the media literacy of Croatian students, parents,and teachers.
Although the main goal of this mobility was to familiarize students with techniques to protect themselves from problems on the Internet, the mobility was designed to warn them that the virtual world should only be a part of their lives and that participation in real life is also a way to protect themselves from problems related to using the Internet. That’s why they had the opportunity to participate in different activities on mobility where they don’t need their smartphones.
They had the opportunity to overcome obstacles in the adrenaline park, solve problems in order to get out of the locked room of the Escape Room, and visited Rimac automobile company and the Museum of illusion. At the Orehovec school, they competed in jumping in sacks, gossiping with an egg on a spoon, running, and playing with a ball. They really liked the competition in old games, as well as the dance that the hosts prepared, on Friday after dinner, in the Orehovec Firehouse.
