Colégio Atlântico is a state-approved private school that incorporates a highly effective academic experience and quality education for all children. This private school goes from nursery to twelfth grade and currently has 1500 students enrolled. It provides a challenging academic environment since its establishment in 1982. We have 72 teachers, a group of 6 people (therapists and psychologists), and educational assistants. Colégio Atlântico is located in a working-class neighborhood in Seixal, a short distance from the country’s capital, Lisbon.

Our participation in the S.O.S. (Strengthen Online security) will be very important for our school. Currently, we have a program in which our students from the age of 12 do not have paper books because they use tablets with ebooks and work online. We currently have a robotics project with programming classes and we can add a lot of value in this project. We think that children's education is an important factor and educational systems should provide children in this age of new technologies, skills to surf the internet At our school students work with tablets, so they are more exposed to the dangers of the internet. Teaching them HOW to "travel" on the internet safely is of utmost importance. 

Students hold various workshops on the subject throughout the year and also conferences on important topics such as phishing and cyberbullying. The internet is a very important means of disseminating and communicating nowadays.
