Module II

  • Module 2 - Personal & Cultural expression
The next step is to incorporate movement in personal and cultural expression. The aim of this module is to use the concept of movement in Art, Theatre, Music or Dance. It will be partner school and students' choice which direction they want to pursue according to their skills, preferences and interests. We will use Inquiry-Based Learning circle and a Development Plan to document the work. The teachers will be encouraged to design interdisciplinary units in MYP to facilitate the process. The idea is forged around reenacting live paintings, pieces of the plays, combining music and dances. In this time we will focus on first two steps of the Inquiry:
    1. Asking - how movement and Art are connected, what can be expressed - videos with ballet, Paintings Parade etc.
    2. Research and investigation - narrowing the area of interest, analysing work and life of selected artist or history of a dance or kind of music.

    3. Creating a performance - showing movement in Art. This stage of the process will be also connected with partial feedback given by the teachers and students during special sessions monitoring the progress.

    4. Presentations - performing in front of a selected audience and recording the event for the documentation and dissemination on eTwinning.

    5. Evaluation and Reflection - assessing the process, strengths and weaknesses,  areas of improvement.
In this module students will be able to develop their time-management and planning skills, strengthen their understanding of personal and cultural expression through movement in Art, develop their communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.

This module will have an added value to be performed internationally as students will be able to compare their way of perceiving the topic and applying skills and knowledge into practice with their peers from different partner schools which have different cultural backgrounds and follow different curricula.
