Module 1

  • Module 1 - Physical Development
The concept of movement is firstly associated with physical activity, thus it is the first step of the project. The aim of this module is to use the concept of movement not only on PE, but also combining it with other subjects as Physics, Biology or Maths. It will be students' personal choice which direction they want to pursue according to their skills,
preferences and interest. We will use Inquiry-Based Learning circle and a Development Plan to document the work. The teachers will be encouraged to design interdisciplinary units in MYP to facilitate the process. The idea is forged around producing videos of sports and scientific phenomena.

In this time we will focus on first two steps of the Inquiry:
    1. Asking - how movement and Science are connected - Science of stupid videos
    2. Research and investigation - narrowing the area of interest, preparing and analysing a questionnaire for the area of research.

Having done the research and preparation the students will focus on the realisation of their videos, which is the next step in the Inquiry:
    3. Creating the videos - showing physical activity combined with chosen scientific areas
This stage of the process will be also connected with partial feedback given by the teachers and students during special sessions monitoring the
    progress.
    4. Presentations - sharing the results of students work both in the school environment and on eTwinning.
Students will be able to present their outcomes on their subject lessons, Erasmus+ club as well as post in on eTwinning for their peers from partner schools to see.

After presenting the work the last stage will takeplace:
    5. Evaluation and Reflections - assessing the process, strengths and weaknesses, areas of improvement.

In this module students will be able to develop their time-management and planning skills, strengthen their knowledge about connections between PE and other Science subjects, develop their communication skills and improve ESL and ICT skills. It will be also a perfect way to foster collaboration.
This module will have an added value to be performed internationally as students will be able to compare their way of perceiving the topic and applying skills and knowledge into practice with their peers from different partner schools which have different cultural backgrounds and follow different curricula.
