Upcycling (December 2019)

  • The teacher starts the activity with a discussion about recycling. Pupils talk about how and what they recycle at home and at school. They think about products that are made out of recycled materials. They discuss how they can reuse waste materials in a creative way.

Reusing waste materials and unwanted products is known as upcycling. Pupils bring waste materials to school, e.g. plastic bottles, jars and milk cartons, and create something new and useful, such as Christmas souvenirs and decorations, pencil holders and pencil cases, wallets, bracelets etc. They send their new useful products to their partner schools by post.

Using Piktochart (https://create.piktochart.com/) we create beautiful flyers and present our products.
