The earthquake of 11 March 2011 in Japan had its epicenter off the coast of the Tohoku region in the north of the country. From the bottom of the sea, the earth began to tremble at 14.46 local time (6.46 in Europe) at a depth of 30 kilometers. The immediate consequence of the earthquake - the most powerful in the history of Japan, the fourth most powerful and devastating ever in the world, was the tsunami. A frightening, gigantic wave of 14 meters at 750 km per hour struck the Japanese coast, sowing 15,703 dead, 5,314 injured, 4,647 missing, and devastating everything, including a Fukushima nuclear power plant. The wave involved, although with less serious results, New Zealand, Australia, Russia, Guam, Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Hawaii, the northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan.Mattia Perri 1B
