As part of this project, children in Brest and Eastburn are going to write to each other. They will be able to practise their foreign language (French and English) and communicate with each other using both languages.
Children in Year 6 at Eastburn have written some letters to their penfriends in CM2 (October 2019):
Letters have arrived from France for Year 6 at Eastburn! Thank you! October 2019
Year 5 have written letters to their penfriends and are delighted to receive these from France!
Year 4 have written letters to their penfriends and are very excited to be taking part in this project. October 2019.
Children in Year 3 at Eastburn have started learning French this year. They are very pleased to have penfriends in Brest. They can use their learning for a real purpose and have written their first letters to their penfriends in October 2019.
As part of our Christmas card exchange in this project, children in all our classes in the school have written a class card with a message to their penfriend. As this is an eco-project, we used recycled card, scrap paper and re-used wrapping paper to make the cards!
Children in Key Stage 1 at Eastburn are also taking part in our school link this year!
Here are some cards made by our Year 2 children (aged 6-7):
