Klaipeda Tauralaukis progymnasium, Klaipeda, Lithuania

Klaipeda - Lithuanian port, the third largest city in the country, located in the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea merging spot. Population about 160 thousand people. Klaipeda, like many coastal cities has maritime climate: mostly mild, but occasionally chilly winds, frequent rain characterized by wet and windy climate with weather volatility.

Tauralaukis progymnasium is a public school  located in a suburb area of  Klaipeda city. Progymnasium provides a guality educational opportunities for all of our students. We actively encourage all students to achieve the best they can. There are 190 students at school (age 7-14), 56 children at kindergarten (age 3-5), 20 at  preschool class (age 6-7).  We have 30 teachers.

Taurage “Saltinis” progymnasium is modern, attractive and safe school. There are 850 students of age 6 – 14.  Our students are from different  social classes. Also we have students with special needs. Teachers pay special attention to each student. During formal and informal education we are developing our students communication skills, self- confidence, creativity. We want them to become the real members of community with good life experience.

We had a good base of information technologies. Our experience of using them in our daily school life is summarized in the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies and disseminated all over the world.
