On November 5, 2019. our sixth-graders, accompanied by their classmates and history and mathematics teachers, went to field classes in Garić grad, the most famous and best-preserved medieval fortress on Moslavačka gora.
Along the narrow, paved road, students and teachers headed for the fort. It is first mentioned in the XII. century. It changed many owners and was destroyed during the Ottoman attacks in the 16th century when it was abandoned and demolished. The main and small towers, ramparts and moat have been preserved. Since this fieldwork was imbued with the correlation of religious education, mathematics, and history, students were divided into groups and solved different tasks. Thus, they solved mathematical problems - measured the dimensions of the main and small towers, recalculated the units of measurement, rounded the obtained dimensions to two decimal places and sketched the fortifications of Garić grad. Tasks related to history were related to the legends of the broken stone, the Garić snake-girl and Ružica Garićgradska, but also to the hajduk Joca Udmanić, whom Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer himself was afraid of. The tasks from religious education were related to the activities of the Paulines in the town of Garić and their monastery there, the White Church. After checking the solution of the tasks and visiting the fort, they headed towards the school.
