On March 23, 2021, Zorka Sever Elementary School organized a virtual meeting of students and teachers participating in the "Castles" project. The meeting was organized by a mathematics teacher and also a project manager - Elvisa Sekulić, through the Zoom platform. The meeting was attended by 6th grade students and English language teacher - Tea Dolenčić and students and teachers of partner schools: Split 3, Split, Croatia; Don Gnocchi State Institute, Maddaloni, Italija; IC Calcinate Bergamo, Italija.
Students and teachers discussed project activities and presented the latest project task - a shared digital virtual book of stories and legends about castles. The task for the students was as follows: to devise a story or legend based on a castle-related legend from their surroundings, translate that same story into English, and publish the papers in a shared digital book. According to the template of the story, the students painted works of art using the black ink technique and also published the works in a joint digital book. The project task was completed by 6th grade students with interdisciplinary correlation in Croatian language teaching with teacher Diana Kajganić, in art culture teaching with teacher Nikola Bartulić and in English language teaching with teacher Teo Dolenčić.
Through this project, students developed the following key competencies: understanding their own cultural heritage, ability to apply knowledge and technology, safe and critical use of information and communication technologies for work and communication, ability to effectively manage their own learning (individually or in groups), social and civic competencies. ability to participate effectively and constructively in one's own social life), cultural awareness and expressing the ability to appreciate the creative importance of ideas (experiences and feelings in media, literature, visual and performing arts), communication in a foreign language and intercultural understanding.
