Second mobility in Italy

  • Second mobility in Italy 23rd to 29th Feb 2020 (Crotone)

This event was the second coordination meeting and was our first short-term exchange of pupils where students of each country delivered their presentations about their schools, cities and countries. It was a short-term of five-day visit, where the participating teachers and students had the opportunity to learn how the Italian school had already implemented the Flipped classroom approach within its curriculum. Furthermore, the students were hosted by Italian families making them aware about the Italian culture and customs. Unfortunately, due to the danger of the COVID-19 the educational authorities recommended the early return of our mobility. Nonetheless, the programmed objectives were successfully completed.

    My experience in Crotone, Italy

Erasmus project, Flipped classroom, Italy, Crotone

No one wants all we - participants in the project Flipped classroom 2019 -2021, to have been in sunny Crotone those days. The panic, the fear of coronavirus spread, the anxiety of local people, the whole chaos and tension, the disappointment, the huge amount of extra money, which each country had to pay for returning home as soon as possible. Things were all in the muddle.

But I can’t blame anyone, I can’t be angry with anyone , because I wasn’t in the shoes of anyone of the host country.

I learnt lots of things from my experience in Crotone. I learnt that all we can’t always have good days, but all we can always face bad days with a good attitude. I learnt that experience is a hard teacher, because it gives the test first and the lesson afterwards – opposite to the flipped classroom – the lesson given beforehand at home and practice in the classroom. I learnt that it is not the age that make us mature, it is the responsibility. I understood how responsible and mature my students are, how strong character my colleague – Stasy is!

I learnt how hospitable Italian families are, how delicious the Italian food is, how shining the sun is in Crotone and Lucia’s hugging!

I met different people – lovely colleagues and students!

    I learnt a lot!
