8. NATURE DEMO INTRODUCTION: Warming up. Footprint calculators.

  • How are you? We hope you are all safe.

    Although we are at home, we would like to continue our collaboration and communication.

    The final DEMO is NATURE DEMO, with the Earth Day being the climax to close the project.

     

    AIMS

    • Discover your biggest areas of resource consumption
    • Learn what you can do to reduce you impact on the Earth
    • Articulate how the choices you make determine your impact on the environment. Working on SDGs.
    • Answer reflective questions which will prepare you for a group discussion.
    • Reflect on the data after your calculations
    • Use reasoning and evidence collection skills that are essential in life to be a critical thinker.
    • Use creativity to summarize your partners' ideas in a poster.
    • Take part in online chats to liven up while your are locked at home during this pandemic.

     

    Task 1

    You will find two options. It's up to you to use both of them or just one.

    1. We will start with this footprint calculator, so please, once you finish, comment on your findings IN THE DISCUSSION FORUM with your partners.

    2. You can also take this quiz from the CNN with some climate change solutions. Use the forum to comment on the most surprising facts. Go to THE DISCUSSION FORUM share your results and comment them with your partners. There are 8 different sections.

     

    Next task: Task 2

    Each class will work on an article, so you will meet your partners in the forum after reading the text you will be assigned. There are different levels of difficulty, so you can try more than one. Your teachers will suggest you which team you could join according to your English level, but you could also join the team choosing the topic that it is the most interesting for you.
