The Secondary School Institut Pla de les Moreres is set in Vilanova del Cami, a town of 12,000 inhabitants, 3 km from Igualada (capital city of Anoia county) and about 50 km from Barcelona. In the town there are 3 public primary school, and we are the only secondary school. The school offers Compulsory Secondary Education (12-16 year old) and Baccalaureate (16-18 year old), which is post-compulsory secondary education mainly aimed at preparing students for University and for Higher Vocational Training. In total, there are 600 students and 65 teachers.

It is the students’ only cultural referent for most of the students. The Faculty and the Management team of the school work together to promote and modernise the school in all its scopes. The town is trying to progress, but the unemployment rate in the area is one of the highest in Catalonia. The percentage of foreign students is relatively low. However, during school year 2017-18 new students from other parts of Spain, Morocco and Latin-America have joined. In our opinion, European projects internationalise the school and the town, and give the students the possibility to meet different cultures and new people. We also think that the topic' A Healthier School' is a challenging one and will help us become a better school, with respect to healthy habits, healthy food, healthy leisure activities. We also want the school to be seen as a "safe" space, where students, parents and teachers interact freely and respectfully.

The School’s Erasmus+ Commission will be in charge of running the project, which meets regularly to analyse and make decisions. This Commission is made up of the International Projects Coordinator, the Secretary, the Pedagogical Coordinator and two representatives from different departments. The person in charge of contacts with other schools and the administration, and public communication is the International Projects Coordinator, who reports the Commision whenever necessary. With this Commission the school makes sure no information is lost even if a teacher leaves the school.

We have participated in different projects, some of them co-funded by the European Community and others which are bilateral. So we think that we can learn more from experienced partners and shared our experience with both those new to European project and the experienced. The activities we have taken part in are the following:

    1. Annual exchange with High School Robert Schuman de Amilly (France) since 2006.

    2. Multilateral Comenius Project "Tun-Y: We are Y'ers" (2012-2014).

    3. Comenius Conversation Assistant during year 2013-2014.

    4. Erasmus+ KA2: "Get Moving: take part in the future!" (2016-18).

    5. Erasmus+ KA1 "Open up your mind, open up your town" (2017-18)
