  • 2nd mobility in TURKEY, HAVZA, SAMSUN, 16-21.01.2014

    Host school: HAVZA ANADOLU İMAM HATİP LİSESİ

    Objectives of mobility:

    Teachers:

    -           to attend the Digital stories  workshop for teachers  ( creating a digital story using Windows Live Movie Maker)- technical and theoretical inputs ;

    -           to identify different personal objects representatives for their digital story;

    -           to create the first digital story ( teachers);

    -           to see the Turkish teaching environment (class assistance);

    -           to discover important elements of Turkish history, identity, traditions and culture;

    -           to create an exchange of good pedagogical practices;

    -           to arrange the third project mobility ( Greece).

     

    Students:

    -           presentation of each partner school national cultural stand ( students);

    -           to see the Turkish teaching environment (class assistance);

    -           to take part at the studenets show : Presentation of each country:  traditional dances performed by students

    -           to increase students’ knowledge about the European Union;

    -           to increase students' motivation for learning;

    -           to develop students team spirit and their sense of belonging to common European space;

    -           to develop/ improve the students English skills;

    -           to develop new social and  intercultural skills ( students);

    -           to discover important elements of Turkish history, identity, traditions and culture;

    -           to observe the turkish people daily life by sharing different experinces with the hosting famillies;

    Daily activities:

    Activity 1: Meeting at HAVZA ANADOLU İMAM HATİP LİSESİ, school tour and classroom observation (Literature, Turkish language, Biology).

    Activity 2: The students prepared the national cultural stands

    Activity 3: The students performed  a small presentations about their country ( a folk dance , song or a performance). The students could experience icebreaking activities  in order to know each other better.

    Activity 1: A general introduction to the digital storytelling and script writing¨

    Activity 2: Story board and script writing for all the teachers involved (coordinator: Turkey)

    Activity 3: Cultural visit to Samsun ( Bati Park)- the students learnt more about the Turkish history and enhanced their knowledge regarding the tourist attractions

    Activity 1: Technical Session: Script writing, Voice recording and editing and  Windows Live Movie Maker introduction (coordinator: Norway)

    Activity 2: National and traditional fairy tales: the students had to present some PPT or videos about theirs national traditional tales or legendary characters.

    Activity 3: Cultural visit to Amasya: the students learnt about the history of the Ottoman Empire and experienced a new culture

    Activity 1: Editing, preparing and screening the teachers’ digital stories

    Activity 2: Evaluation of the digital stories and discussion about the 3rd mobility

    Activity 3: Preparation of a traditional Turkish dance- the students learnt together one of the Turkish folk dances presented on the first day during the cultural stands.

    Conclusion:First Digital Storytelling Workshop of the project was held between 17h-20th of January 2014 in Ancere Hotel in Havza, Turkey.Total 21 teachers joined the workshop from 9 countries together. Teachers took education on New Technologies and methods, like digital storytelling and public screenings; Workshop was organized as writing scripts (story circle)and technical session. Turkey was the responsible for the first part of education; writing scripts (story circle) and Norway was responsible for the technical

    session. We created learner-based environment and increased the collaborative learning by using non-formal education tools and colourful activities. We developed knowledge, respect and understanding ,the intercultural communication among students and educational staff on the diversity of European cultures organizing cultural event, homestays and colorful art craft activities both at school and hotel; Students had a chance to observe Turkey culture by means of staying with Turkish families. During this mobility, the teachers as well as the students improved their intercultural, linguistic and social competences and moreover, the students got to know for the first time their foreign colleagues from this Multilateral Comenius project.
