Our school is located in Riga, in the capital city of Latvia, but not in the city centre. The school is located near our largest river Daugava, in a very green suburb named Ķengarags.

The school was founded on 1 September 1963. In our school students can learn from the 1st till 12th grade. Our students age varies from 6 to 19 years. The school has 865 students and 65 teachers. All teachers have many years of experience in teaching. We wish we have more young teachers working in our school! Another wish might be related to our English skills that are gradually improving but still there is long way to excellency. We are happy to say that almost all our students have splendid English language skills. Our students are versatile, they love to participate in various interest clubs, sports activities, they have high results in the competitions around the region. They have a wide spectrum of interests and hobbies that our school has also helped to advance. Some of the after-class activities in our school are: the middle school choir and a very broadly attended in all age groups national dance ensemble.

Apart from the lovely pupils and teachers we also have recently renovated school building. For example, we have the newest computer systems and our students already study ICT as from the 1st grade with each year advancing to next level, ending with hardware and coding knowledge in the secondary school. We are proud with an excellent sport stadium and gym establishments. All facilities are not only for school students but also for all Ķengarags inhabitants. Besides our school has a prefect library where all the students and teachers get their studying books and notebooks for free.

The canteen of our school gives free lunches for all students. There are programmes called "School fruits" and "School milk", which as the name implies gives our students from the first until the ninth-grade free daily packages of local fruits and milk.

Our school has a student council and museum board which take part in many local projects and events in Riga and Latvia. For the second year, we have been working as the European Parliament Ambassadors' School. Several times, school students have been given the opportunity to take part in the Euroscola in Strasbourg. The secondary school students work hard in this project.

Our school is participating in European Union programs, like Erasmus+ KA1, Erasmus+ KA 2 and eTwinning.
