Here a sequence to create a cartogram.

The pupils tried to modify the map of the Var in order to show the time or the average speed between Le Luc and the others cities.

We search the travel time and the distance between Le Luc and the others cities and we calculate the average speed.

Then, pupils chose to representate the time or the speed and decided the map scale (per example  1 cm for 10 min, or 1 cm for 10 km/h)

After that, they replace all the cities with their new scale.

They recreate the border of the department. It show a new vision of the city's proximity.
