We have found out that the area around the river Xallas may have been an important centre for Romans. Five milestones and two funerary steles that have been found prove that the Roman Via XX, or per loca maritima, crossed Santa Comba. There is also a theory claiming that there was a military camp, as it is known that Romans arrived here in search of tin and gold.
