2nd. Transnational Meeting in Dortmund May 2015/ Meeting of the Employability teams

  • RECORDING OUR EUROPE IN DORTMUND

     

    MONDAY, 11th May

    - We arrive at Leopold-Hoesch Berufskolleg (LHB), where students from Spain, Finland and Germany meet together in a Youth Training Scheme class (room 320). Students introduce and get to know themselves.

    - Principal Mr. Mai welcomes us into the school and Dortmund itself.

    - Local students tour the Finnish and Spanish ones around the school and its surroundings

    - Teachers meet to talk about some ideas on Social Media. There is questionnaire on Social Media already done by the German hosts to be translated into English. We also discuss on ideas regarding the risks on social nets: a short fiction film and a tutorial displaying these concepts.

    - Students agree a questionnaire to ask the filmmaking students.

    - We visit the filmmaking class and interview the filmmaking students using questionnaires the students wrote before. Students of filmmaking give us all some tips on making videos.


     

    TUESDAY, 12th May

     

    - We meet in room 320 to watch the videos the German, Finnish and Spanish teams have produced so far on sustainability and employability. After that, students comment on the videos.

    - The students are divided into two big international groups and go around Dortmund to record positive and negative things of the city regarding sustainability. After that, we watch and comment all the video produced and upload them into the online video-editor WeVideo to work with them afterwards.

     

    WEDNESDAY, 13th May

    - The students are again divided into two big groups and go for a tour around the classes and workshops of LHB. Students record what they see and after that, we watch those video and photos back in rom 320.

    -A forum is held at LHB on employability. Teachers and students belonging to the project Recording our Europe take part on it, together with two apprentices working for a M. Benz official garage, an apprenticeship/human resources manager and local teacher Ludger via webcam from Zaragoza. The forum is about the workings of the apprenticeship in the German system, the requirements candidates should gather when applying for any of them.

    - We leave LHB to visit an employment fair, Bildungsbörse Dortmund, held in the city centre.

     

    THURSDAY, 14th May

    -It’s bank holiday in Germany, Vatertag, Father’s day. German hosts, teachers and students, take us on an excursion to a former industrial area, Hoesch Westalenhütte, close to the Westphalian Park In Dortmund. Both Sussanne and Philipp tell us about some facts about the area. After that we visit the surroundings of the Phoenix Lake in Dortmund too.

    -Teachers meet at the hostel to discuss goals for the next events and dates for next events themselves.

    • We agree on the making of an e-book containing media links; the German and Finnish partners will cover its cost. Philipp Lüttgens will work on the book edition, once the contents are ready. Because this process will take time, we agree on the Deadline FEBRUARY 2016 to have all contents ready.

    • We also discuss aspects regarding the good practice guide and the contribution of the German, Spanish and Finnish teams:

    • We set the goals for each team (Employability, Sustainability, Project TV and Social Media)  for the next international events/meetings in Kotka and Dortmund.

    • Dates for the next meeting in Finland, with the Social Media Team:

      • Option 1: 29/9 - 3/10/15

      • Option 2: 26/10 - 30/10/15

    • Goals for the next term :

     

    1.             EMPLOYABILITY: Upload all paperwork done during the meeting (Questionnaires, forum on employability, etc). Working with the concept Video Currículum. Preparing an example and a tutorial with Do’s and Don’ts (Go Animate possible Software).

    2.             SOCIAL MEDIA: Questionnaire in English.  Complete it and agree on final version. Run it in different classes of the 3 Schools.

    3.             SUSTAINABILITY: Searching for examples on how to make our city sustainable (improve life quality) Video on this issue.


     

    FRIDAY, 15th May

    -Students gather in international groups of 4-6 students to talk about themselves and what they’ve learned in this event, drawing their own conclusions.
