About the project Approaching Better Teaching

  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

    This is an Erasmus+ project approved as 2018-1-SE01-KA229-039043.There are four partner schools coming from Sweden, Croatia, Poland and Hungary. The project deals with exchanging and building ideas and innovative practices aiming at finding the fruitful balance between student-centred teaching method and teacher-centred one.
    We are aware of the difference regarding teaching practices between our schools and we aim at studying the differences and observing the partners' teaching. We will explore this tension in three different subject fields: language learning, STEM and artistic / practical subjects. In addition, we will create opportunities to make comparison also in our own schools.
    Our methodology with shadowing, eTwinning activities and focus group discussions will build a capacity in our schools to critically reflect on our own teaching practices. This capacity will enable the schools to start transforming their teaching regarding teacher-centred and student-centred teaching.

    THE AIMS OF THE PROJECT

    The aims of the project are to:

    - strengthen knowledge in STEM through authentic learning;

    - develop language skills in native language and in English;

    - provide natural opportunities to stimulate, train and develop students’ different senses in practical / aesthetic subjects;

    - enable participants to use effectively ICT;

    - enable teachers to critically reflect on their own teaching practice through shadowing in other teaching contexts, discussion and comparison of different approaches and through co-planned teaching activities;

    - get a broader repertoire of teaching approaches;

    - gain a strengthened action competence to know when to give the students more

    responsibility over their learning process and when to take charge of the lessons;

    - test innovative teaching methods together during mobility activities and develop them together in eTwinning activities and the pupils exchange.
