Polish Independence Day

  • On the occasion of 100th anniversary of gaining Independence by Poland (11th November 1918) lots of interesting things happened today (9th November 2018) at our school.

Students have prepared some exhibition. On the left hand side - a map of our country and how the borders changed, in the middle - the Polish coat of arms, on the right hand side - people important in our  history of Independence - Roman Dmowski, Ignacy Daszyński, Józef Piłsudski, Ignacy Paderewski, Wincenty Witos.

Every student and teacher at school on the day of the celebration was wearing specially made for the occasion rosettes and ribbons in the colours of our flag.

There was a special two-page leaflet containing the information about people important for the fight of Polish Independence around 11.11.1918. Even Józef Pilsudski 'visited' the school in person.

There was a cake fair - students have prepared some special cakes and cookies on the occasion and all the school community could buy and taste them. They were really delicious.

At 11.11 o’clock  all the school community gathered in the assembly hall, listened to the head masters speech, sang our national anthem, and created the flag by holding white and red papers.
