Assessment for learning- Strategies - tools - evidences

  • Main goal: Growing a positive mindset. Focus all the assessment strategies and activities to value the effort and the improvement in the learning process, not only the final result but the progress and improvement done.

Of course every teacher/school is free to combine a summative assessment (at the beggining and at the end of their activities) with the assessment for learning, but in this project we want to highlight specially the formative assessment (assessment for learning) and the importance of achieving a positive attitude to effort, respect and positive mindsets. A positive teacher and peers feedback will help children to see how the learning is going on and how to improve and to achieve a final purpose.

Here we can share some strategies we use (example use of questions, feedback , self-assessment, rubrics focussed on the learning process, training work to high spot "the positive" in other partners work, to value resilience and effort or any task which provides information about what a student is learning or what is he/she able to do .

There are different ideas to assess our pupils. If you want you can try  Rubistar ,a very useful and free tool to create your own rubrics adding your own criteria.

    OUR PUPIL'S CREATIVITY INITIAL ASSESSMENT

Dear friends, Mari Angels and Montse (1st grade- Barrufet school) see the starting point in the creativity of their pupils with this easy exercise...

Creativity and Creative Thinking are an important part of the learning process and fot this reason they foster moments of creative thinking and they are starting with some "thinking routines" this course. This activity works both, Thinking and Creativity. It's just to give the pupils a sheet of paper with 7 or 8 small circles and children can decide which picture/drawing to draw inside the circle.  They must think what to draw inside and then they can draw freely. We don't compare with others and we don't give any other instruccions, just let them draw. With the result we can see the level of creativity of every student.

Teacher Question: What can we do with this circles?

    TEACHERS FIRST ONLINE ASSESSMENT MEETINGS
