The Technical Institute "A. Volta" is located in Perugia, in a region called "The Green Heart of Italy". There are 1600 students, aged 14-19, coming from the town and surrounding areas, some travel long distances in order to attend our school. There are 211 teachers and 50 members of administration and organization staff. The socio-economic profile of the students varies a lot.

There are five different courses: Electronics and Electrical Studies, Mechatronics and Energy, Chemistry, ICT and Telecommunications, Graphics and Communications.

At the end of a five-year course students get a diploma which enables them to start a professional career or to attend University or Master Courses.

The school has a strong link to its territory and organizes periods of working experiences in local firms for students attending the final three classes.

Internationalization is a key element of the development plan. Some of its teachers have joined the eTwinning platform since 2006 and many projects have been awarded National and European prizes.

The mission of I.T.T.S. A. Volta is to form European citizens respectful of other cultures, to provide them with 21st century skills and an attitude to lifelong learning and continuous innovation.

To reach this ambitious goal there is collaboration and sharing of experiences with other European schools. We have a thirty-year experience in the organization of apprenticeships for the students and a long tradition of collaboration with local companies.

There are various initiatives aimed at developing the entrepreneurial skills with mini-companies set up by the students for the realization of real products, from the creation to the design, realization and marketing phases. Every year the school organizes an event called “Start up day” dedicated to the presentation of all the students innovative creations to the local companies, authorities and families.

Since 2011 the school takes part in a national project called “LA TUA IDEA D’IMPRESA” which is based on a competition of ideas for enterprises with teams made of 10 students each.

The key persons involved in the project have relevant experience of management of European and enterpreneurial project:
