Ludhiana aspires to be a Green City, with signs everywhere encouraging people to not drop litter.

DAV BRS  School in the city is also a clean Zone with no signs of litter

The school has Solar Panels on it's flat roof to provide all its electricity & there is plenty of sun, it is 40c for much of the Summer

 

Chandigarh is a new town and is another city aspiring to be Green

The World Famous Rock Garden at Chandigarh is made entirely from recycled materials

The Peacock their National Bird has been made from old plates and ladies wrist bangles as have the people below

Amritsar, the  famous city of the Golden Temple was granted an Eco Award in 2017

However not everywhere in India is green like these places

Litter is very visible along the sides of busy roads and in many towns, frequently plastic bottles!
