Learning Activities in Portugal

  • Under the "Technology for all" project, the ECB welcomes 24 students and 13 teachers from partner schools in Spain, Italy, Finland, Poland and Turkey (coordinator) for one week.
     
    On February 19, the welcome session and a visit to the ECB facilities were held in the morning, and in the afternoon the students and teachers visited the Robotics Club of the São Gonçalo Schools Group. The students had the opportunity to try various projects developed by the club and to program in Basic robots with Picaxe-controlled boards.
     
    On February 20 the activities, in the morning, were energized by 2 teachers of the School of Technology and Management (ESTG), the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. At ESTG the students got to know the projects that are being developed by their students in the Robotics Laboratory and participated in a workshop on how to program industrial robots. In the afternoon, there was a cultural visit to the Sanctuary of Fatima.
     
    On February 21, the country fair was held, students presented their countries (culture, monuments, gastronomy, customs, traditions, ...) and school through videos, images and presentations. They also set up a bank with products from their countries. In the afternoon, a workshop on Lego EV3 was organized by Professor Paulo Torcado, from the Portela Secondary School.
     
    On February 22 the activities consisted of visiting some localities of the region: Monastery of Alcobaça; beach of São Martinho do Porto and Nazaré beach. In the evening there was a dinner shared with all the teachers, the students and the welcoming families.
     
    On the last day, February 23, a visit to Lisbon took place.
