Transnational meeting in Cyrous
The aim of the transnational meeting in Cyrous was to meet the partners, to present the project activities done so far, outputs and outcomes, to focus on the results of the first and second project year, to conduct the final face to face evaluation with partners, dissemination of the project results and activities, to update the plan and to participate in joint activities with all partners in Cyprus.
The project priorities are: Social Inclusion; Open and innovative practices in a digital era; Strengthening the profile of the teaching profession.
During the transnational project meeting we had teachers’ meetings – Coordination of the project, a meeting with Ms Patricia Phaedonos on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Culture, a meeting to evaluate and discuss on the formal letters written to suggest methods of peace, a meeting to disseminate the results and activities and update the plan. We attended a lesson related to the subject of the programme. We had a special visit at the municipality of Lakatameia and a meeting with the mayor Dr Fotoula Hadjipapa. We participated in a ceremony with peace and folklore theme (narration, dancing, singing, etc) organized by the Cyprus partner school. We also had a meeting with the Students’ Council and with members of the Parents’ Association. We had the opportunity to visit a Refugee Asylum in Kofinou village, to visit the divided capital of Europe by war – had a glance at the consequences of the 1974, we learned a lot about Cyprus and Cypriot culture and civilization.
All partners presented some project results during the second project year, the most important local project activities in their school, outputs and expected outcomes to the teachers and students from the Cyprus school and the participants in the meeting. We discussed the new planned activities and the responsibility of partners during the next months and final stage in the project. We wanted to make sure that everything is clear and according to the project plan. We discussed the Europass documents, declarations of participation, e-twinning page, project website and blogs.
The participants in the meeting had the opportunity to work together in workshops but also to visit institutions, museums and other places of interest. We were in Larnaca and visited some places of interest with the tour guide Ms Thaleia Sofiali (Hala Sultan Tekke, Saint Lazarus church, Medieval Castle). All participants had the opportunity to learn more about the history and culture of the city, to enjoy the Cypriot traditional food. The program was intensive and the three days were not enough to see everything or do many things, but the meeting was successful and all partners had positive feelings about the partnership and the project work.
