Institut  Tarragona

Institut Tarragona is a general school located in a touristic city called Tarragona near Barcelona in the mediterranean coast. Our school has 650 students aged between 12 and 18 years old. The school hasn't got many students from other countries, it has about 5% of students from South America and Morroco. We have a special classroom in the school to integrate the students who have just arrived from another country and they don't know the local language. We also we have a special classroom to teach the students who have learning problems. The school is in the city center and it is mainly formed by middle class families. The academic students' results are slighty over the national average. The school is very concerned with the European dimension. It has developed other European projects like Comenius and Erasmus+ action or eTwinning associations. The school has also been working the CLIL methodolgy for some years. Some teachers in the school have experience in Comenius and Erasmus+ coordination projects. The educational community values very positively the fact of taking part in educational European projects. The school is located in a very important chemical industrial area, the most important in Spain and one of the most important in the south of Europe, where a several students find a job when they finish the degree.
