Karl III. Wilhelm (*17th January 1679, †12th May 1738)
-Karl became margrave of Baden-Durlach in year 1709, after his father died
-Then he founded Karlsruhe in year 1715
-He had a special thought when he decided how he wanted to construct his city
-He wanted his palace to be the center of the city, also as sign of his totalitarian rule
-> that‘s how the „fan“ develped
-He was also known for his love to tulips
-He is burried in a pyramid in the center of the city
The life of Carl Benz (*25th November 1844, †4th April 1929)
-In year 1883 he founded his own company: Benz & Cie.
-In year 1885 he built the first car called „Benz Patent-Motorwagen Nummer 1“
-First no one belived in the success of a „coach without horses“
-Bertha Benz went on her famous trip in year 1888 in which she travelled 104 km with the „Benz Patent-Motorwagen Nummer 3“
Karl Drais (*29th April 1785, †10th December 1851)
-He invented many things in his life, but the most unique was the „Draisine“ (1917)
-He told that he had the idea while watching ice skaters
-Revolutionary because using the „Draisine“, places could be reached way faster
