- Using forums and chats asking for technical information. Meeting future members to work together.
DATES (1 week): Hello, if you couldn't join in any group yet, now try to do it in the third task. We are going to improve our English about ICT and at the same time, we are going to know more about your work group choosen. Follow the steps marked in yellow bellow.
Chat or Forums sessions for students.
Go to the Chats on Twinspace and start to know your posible collaborators on your working groups. Remember all the conversations will be stored on the Twinspace servers to be consulted by teachers later. If you had some technical problems logging in the chatroom, you could use the forums to do this activity. Do the following exercise:
Use the chat or forum to ask for some technical information about devices used nowadays, about habits reciently adquired between teenagers related with ICT (smartphones, smartTV, etc.), and any other point you conseder interesting to compare with yours. One question per student is enought. Answers can be more than one. After that, choose 5 question you consider interesting and write questions and answers, and finally expose your personal opinion about all that information comparing culture, habits, manners, market, prices, advancements, antique, and more. Compose your work in Goconqr using cards, share it permiting public access, and write the public URL in the apropiate forum.
This is an example:
1.) Q: What kind of ADSL is in your country? How many Gbps or Mbps as bandwidth? How much cost is it more o less?
A: In turkey there are ADSL from 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps in almost homes and offices. The prices are similar to Spain, from 30 to 60 euros per month.
2.) Q: Does the turkish keyboard get some different keys from spanish keyboard? Give an example
A: Yes, it does. There are some special keys instead of some spanish keys, they are for example ö,ç.
3.) Q: How many smartphones could have a medium class family in Turkey, for example a family with 4 members (father, mother, 1 son teenager, 1 daughter child)?
A: 4, of course, everybody has one, childs play today with the old devices when they are replaced, but only for playing games, not for calls.
