OUR GIFT TO LATVIA- 100 ANNIVERSARY

What if we give gift to our country ( 21.05.2018. ) This is the result of our brainstorming where more than 40 students took part.

LUĪZE The Garden of Destiny   is a symbol of nation`s continuous griwth and development, it istaking shape on the banks of the river Daugava at Koknese. This garden is a gift for Latvia on its 100th birthday. This park is made by donations and recently has become very popular place for tourists. So we can visit this place to learn more about it and work there as well Just to give our helping hand. The garden is not completed yet. There might be a lot to do.

MĀRTIŅŠ. This can be a avaluable life lesson for us.

MILENA. I am glad to help!

MEGIJA. It was founded through public donations. So our donation can be our wok.

KARINA. Did you know that it was designed by Japanesse landscape artist Shunmyo Masuno.His project got chosen from 207 sent in from all over world. People of Latvia are helping to make his dream into reality.

MADARA. The design of this place represents our historical past, present and future with  help of our beautiful nature.

So now we have GOAL AND OBJECTIVES.

To visit The Garden of Destiny at Koknese because

* we can learn more about idea of this place, about our history and landscape design

* we will VOLUNTEER here by doing different gardening works offered by the administration of the garden

* we can make several individual donations as well (optional) e.g. bringing stones, soil

TARGET AUDIENCE

WHO?

ELĪNA. The target audience are all of us - more than 40 students from Sigulda Town Secondary school and everyone in Latvia, beacause we all want this garden to be completed. It`s going to be a memory to the rest of our life. In this way we can help to make history of our country.

KARĪNA. If we work hard, we will see how well it repays. If we do this with joy, the work will seem less hard. We will get a day full of adventures and feeling of accomplishment.

BENEFIT, RESULT, SUSTAINABILITY

WHAT? HOW? WHY?

SAMANTA. I hope that this garden will have a long life, and hopefully my children can see it. The result will definitely be that all of us will be proud od what we can do as country together. The park will show other how much we value our homeland and our nature..

MĀRTIŅŠ. Once this park is finished, it will become a amajor symbol of the country. Anyone WHO WILL PARTICIPATE THERE AS A VOLUNTEER WILL LEAVE HIS OWN MARK TO THE NATION. AS WELL AS TO THE FUTURE GENERATIONS.

ANNEMARIJA. With everyones help, love and support this place will flourish and reflect the growth and national identity of our country.

ANNA. VOur vlunteering  might become a part of Latvian history. We would plant some trees, we would clean up, doing gardening.If we had a chance we would putour school name on one of cobble stones and place it on the friendship avenue. We`d each write our best wishes to the garden and to the visitors who have come to admire  beauty. Evwryone, who can honestly say, that Latvia is important to him- this garden is for YOU!

MATĪSS. The result must be unforgetable It must bring excitement to us and others.

ELĪNA. The result will definitely be worth our time and we would be proud of ourselves and work we have put in this awsome place.

VALDIS. LATVIANS WILL CHARISH THIS PLACE AS LONG AS THEY CAN. THIS GARDEN WILL BE IMPROVED AND GET MORE BEAUTIFUL AS THE YEARAS GO ON.

RISKS

The only one we can think about is weather. Rain? Too hot?
