Roma children, Batajnica (Serbia)

  • We decide to help Roma children because in our school there are about 20% Roma students.

Many of them live very poorly.

We demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the engagement and achievement of pupils from Roma backgrounds.

The most successful of these school authorities, teachers and pupils worked in effective partnerships with parents and developed specific strategies,  to meet the needs of this group of pupils.

I try to built up good relationships with Roma families. Developing families’ trust was vital in securing their engagement. I spent time listening to parents and regular meetings ensured that the families were clear about and supported the school’s expectations and engagmen to help them.

We have made cakes to help :

    1. N. N. (7 yesrs old) live ina a family with five kids.He is the second child . We have decided to buy a new sports shoes.

    2. Four students to go on a school exursion with others.

Also, we have organised an action to collect clothes.
